it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Well in my house it is anyway!
I'm TRYING to be good, and hold out with the decorating, but as you can see, I've already lost the battle with our mantle.

I'm not really looking forward to putting up the tree, as I can only imagine half my days will be spent trying to keep our puppy away from it! Instead, I'm satiating my decorating desires with Christmasy crafts instead!

I created this Santa Beard Christmas Countdown for my boys over the weekend, and thought some of you might like a copy too. Simply print out your own copy (I recommend using a heavier weight cardstock), and then glue on a cotton ball each day of December, until the 24th when Santa's beard will be full!

You can download your own copy of our Santa's Beard printable below:

Elf on the Shelf Giveaway Bonanza!

If you don’t already own an Elf on the Shelf, you’ve most likely come across him in precarious positions on Pinterest or Facebook.  Santa’s little helper has been inspiring wonder in little children, while entertaining their parents, for several years now.

The Elf on the Shelf is a very special elf sent from the North Pole to help Santa sort his naughty and nice lists. When an elf is adopted by a family, and given a name, it receives its Christmas magic, enabling it to fly to the North Pole each night to tell Santa all about the day's adventures. Every morning, the elf flies back to its new family and settles in a different place to watch the fun. Every morning brings the exciting scramble to find the elf's new hiding spot!

Coming up with new wild and whacky ideas for "Alfie Delf", my family's elf, is one of my most favourite Christmas traditions!

In the spirit of Christmas, Love a Rhino has partnered with 4 other fabulous Small Businesses to bring you the chance to introduce some elfie magic to your house this year!
We have 3 fabulous prizes to be won!

Boo!

It seems that in the past few years Halloween has really taken off in Aus.
It's gone from such a touchy, tabboo subject, to even Woolies and Big W offering cute Halloween goodies.

Personally, I don't see what's not to like. Dressing-up? Lollies? Cute decorations? Fun? - Yes please!

Earlier this week I decided to take some time to "spookify" my mantle.
With the use of a few bits and pieces I already had laying about, a few new cheap (as in, literally $2, sort of cheap) decorations, a can of spray paint and my printer, I think I've succeeded.

As a little Halloween gift, I've decided to share the printables I made with all of my lovely readers.

You can download your own copy of our Halloween goodies below:

Enjoy!

Do you do anything special for Halloween?

a sneak peek....

Does your house NOT have a chimney? How do you explain to your children how Santa delivers their presents without a chimney to shimmy down?

I think we have a solution.....

Keep your eyes peeled for more info on Love a Rhino's Magic Santa Keys in the coming weeks!

Printable laundry labels

Last weekend I decided to pretty up my laundry with some new labels

I'm hoping that the added prettiness serves two purposes:

Firstly, I hope it will encourage me to spend some more time in there. Folding washing is my kryptonite!

Secondly, my darling husband can not claim he can't identify what powder is in each of the jars, and therefore can't put the washing on!
Checkmate hubby, checkmate!

The set includes 9 labels, "wash", "soak", "dry", "treat", "clean", "stains", "pegs", "iron" and a blank label for you to fill in with whatever you'd like ("dog food" in my case).

You can download your own copy of our free laundry labels here:

If you'd like to order your own customised laundry labels, with the wording and colours of your choice, please feel free to contact me.

Enjoy!

Why, hello there strangers!

Nothing like a short break between posts, right?
I promise I'll do better this time!
Ok, well I'll TRY to do better anyway (but will probably become distracted at some point along the way...)!

Scarily enough, I saw a post floating around today, that stated Christmas is only 99 days away!
I'm normally quite good at buying things throughout the year to be put away for Christmas pressies.
My problem lies in the fact that I often forget what I've bought and come December, I've overdone the gifts for certain people, and have next to nothing for others!

Not this year! This year I'm determined to keep track of what I'm buying for who, in an effort to avoid overspending and more importantly, to avoid the terrifying last minute dash to the overcrowded/ sold out shops!
To help me (and you!) keep on top of things, I've created a pretty printable Christmas Gift List, where all of the important "who" "what" and "how much" details, can be recorded.

I remembered last week, that I’ve bought new ornaments this year (ok, I was reminded when a box of them fell out of the overstuffed cupboard and onto my head, but I digress…) in gorgeous vintagey/ pastel colours.

They inspired the colours for the printable, so I hope you like them!

Please feel free to share, but please remember to link back to my blog.

You can download your copy of the Christmas Gift List here (and the matching Christmas Card List here), by clicking on the links below.

(hint: these are print quality files and look fabulous on card stock, or thicker paper!)
